The Strategic Legal Advice Committee, Justice Together Initiative and The Legal Education Foundation are delighted to offer a free training event to introduce community lawyering and movement building to lawyers, campaigners, and organisers from across the UK.
The training will take place in Manchester at Garden Court North Chambers on the 25th of April, 10-5pm with a drinks reception afterwards.
The training will look at the different models of community lawyering and movement building with a range of speakers from Law Centers and NGOs who are already delivering community lawyering models, including Public Interest Law Centre and Greater Manchester Law Centre.
The event will also be an opportunity to:
Share examples of how community and movement lawyering can work in practice
Bring people together from across the UK to network, share experiences, learn and to connect for future collaboration
Identify what further information or support people and organisations may need to implement this approach in their work
The training is open to grassroots and community organisations, NGOs and legal professionals.
Places are capped at two people per organization. If you would like to attend the training please complete this form by the 5th of April.
We will be in touch on the 6th of April to confirm places. We will also cover the cost of travel to and from the event by public transport and lunch will be provided.
